THIS IS LARRY MANKIN, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Here’s a report from Utah Business Week: The 22nd annual Utah Business Week began Sunday at Utah State University in Logan and runs through the 11th. This weeklong “business boot camp” for youth is put on by the Chamber to teach teens about the realities of business. Today the youth will learn from top representatives from Thanksgiving Point, Fireworks West, and Federal Express. They also will have an obstacle course. In the evening is the Utah Business Week Graduation. Tomorrow the students will have an awards ceremony where they will be honored for how effective and innovative their fictional companies have been. The Chamber congratulates these 200 teens from around the state of Utah. It also thanks all the sponsors and volunteers who have the vision to create a meaningful and fun experience for the youth this week.

Stantec Consulting is the fastest-growing architecture, engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm in the US according to The Zweig Letter, an industry publication.

Standard Optical recently celebrated the grand re-opening of its Logan store.

Christopherson Travel Group announced a new travel partnership agreement with USANA Health Sciences’ UNI Discount Travel agency.

Make sure you set aside September 14th for the Chamber’s Century Celebration Gala. It celebrates 100 years of business in Salt Lake. Also set aside November 7th for the Chamber’s Women and Business Conference. For more information, call the Chamber at 328-3631 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
