RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Here is a major spoiler alert from the Olympic games in Rio: The U.S. women's gymnastics team has won gold for a second consecutive Olympics. Their score of 184.897 was more than eight points clear of silver medalist Russia.

MIAMI (AP) — Hillary Clinton called for emergency public health action today as she visited a Miami neighborhood dealing with the first U.S. outbreak of the Zika (ZEE'-kuh) virus. At a local health clinic, the Democratic presidential nominee said Republican congressional leaders should summon lawmakers back to Washington and immediately pass funding for the Zika response.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Donald Trump stirred a new controversy by saying if Hillary Clinton is elected, "Second Amendment people" could do something to prevent her from overturning the right to bear arms. Clinton's campaign manager suggested Trump was inciting violence. But Trump's communications director said he was merely praising the "amazing spirit" of strong supporters of the Second Amendment.

DALLAS (AP) — Delta Air Lines says some of its computer systems are still sluggish more than a day after an outage crippled the airline and led to more than 1,500 canceled flights. Delta passengers endured hundreds more canceled and delayed flights today as the carrier slogged through day two of its recovery from the meltdown. At midafternoon, the airline said it had canceled about 530 flights.

PHOENIX (AP) — Streets looked like rivers and water swallowed cars as a major storm moved through Tucson (TOO'-sahn), Arizona and then north today. The storm caused heavy flooding and the closure of several streets. Tucson's street car, which travels around downtown and the university area, was out of service all morning because of floods. There don't appear to be any fatalities as a result of the weather.
