TBILISI, Georgia (AP) — A Georgian official says four mountain climbers from Russia, Estonia and Israel have been found dead after going missing several days earlier.
Kakha Zhorzholiani, head of the Mesti municipality in the west of the country, said Saturday that rescue teams had been looking for the climbers for several days. He said the group, who had gone off to the Ushba mountain, included two Israeli citizens, one Russian and one Estonian.
There were no immediate reports of the cause of death.
The Caucasus Mountains in the former Soviet republic are popular with tourists from eastern Europe.
