RedRock Brewing Company recently won both gold and bronze medals in the World Beer Cup 2002--a global beer competition. RedRock won gold for their Nut Brown Ale and bronze for their Black Bier. The beers are judged by an international panel of 71 judges.

Eliot Management Group, a credit card services company based in Salt Lake City, has opened a new location in Denver. This is their eighth branch office.

The National Ability Center has added new weekend outdoor education programs for the Summer that offer horseback riding and watersports. They have also started a new Cycling Club called the NAC Wheelers.

The Lassonde New Venture Development Center, a recently established educational institution at the University of Utah, has chosen The Summit Group to coordinate its launch and all marketing efforts. The Summit Group will provide branding, logo creation, and identity services for the new organization. The Lassonde Center helps students and faculty develop business plans for their ideas and products.

Here’s a Chamber History Fact: In 1931 the Chamber organized the first “Covered Wagon Days.” This event was the forerunner to the “Days of ‘47” celebrations.

Make sure you set aside September 14th for the Chamber’s Century Celebration Gala. It celebrates 100 years of business in Salt Lake.
