THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Blake Vanroosendaal has been named controller for Big-D Construction, which has offices in Salt Lake and Ogden. James Wood will serve as the Interim Director of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Wood takes the position following the death of Thayne Robson, the bureau's popular long-time director. L. Aldin Porter was recently appointed to Beneficial Life's Board of Directors. Beneficial Life also recently appointed Jerry Borrowman as Managing Director of Market Development and Advanced Sales Support. The Summit Group welcomes Adrienne Jones as a financial officer and Alexandra Bowman and Victoria McFarland as public relations interns.

Timber Wolf Lodges Resort in Park City recently announced the opening of its new Outdoor Wedding and Reception Setting. For more information, call Timber Wolf Lodges Resort at 1-800-414-0430.

Here’s a Chamber History Fact: In 1923 the Chamber helped overturn a statewide smoking ban.

One of the great things about the Chamber's monthly Business After Hours networking event is the interesting places we hold them. This month's event is for the birds! We will meet tomorrow, June 27th, at Tracy Aviary at 5 p.m. for prizes, great food, and networking. Rico's Mexican Market also sponsors the evening. For more information, call the Chamber at 328-5050 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
