This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Based in Salt Lake, CareSource offers a variety of health care services so patients can remain as comfortable as possible for whatever period of time they have. For patients who choose to remain in their own homes, CareSource offers a number of services. They include medical supplies and equipment as determined by the patient's physician; medical social services for the patient and family; home health and personal care assistance; nursing; and physical, occupational and speech therapy.

CareSource also offers patients another option-one that up until earlier this year was not possible in Utah. It is a free-standing hospice facility called The Residence.

Completed in January, the $5 million building is located at 1645 E. and 4500 South in Salt Lake. It resembles a luxurious mountain ski lodge because of the stone and stucco faade and pitched roof with exposed wooden beams. Inside, the stone hearths, vaulted ceilings and comfortable furniture help create a peaceful home-like ambiance.

Family members are encouraged to stay with patients in the large rooms that include sofa beds and cable TV. They can also have their own rooms.

As a hospice center, The Residence was created specifically to decrease the amount of suffering for the terminally ill. With a high number of nurses to each patient, patients and their families who use the services can have nearly anything they want, including any kind of food at any time. There is also a theater with reclining chairs, a massage therapist, a chapel and a whirlpool bath. Outside are pathways and benches within newly planted gardens.

CareSource's services are certainly valued for the peace and serenity they provide whether they be hospice at The Residence or home health care.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
