Questar reports that lower natural gas and oil prices reduced first-quarter 2002 net income to $34.9 million dollars compared to last year’s $69.3 million.

Online professional license renewal is now available through the state’s website at www.utah.org. The Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing initiated the online renewal to make the process more efficient.
Here’s a Chamber History Fact: Former Chamber head, Gus Backman, approached the legislature in 1945 to borrow $500,000 to help provide programs and entertainment for Utah’s Centennial celebrations in 1947. The legislature didn’t believe it could be paid back, but after the celebrations, $535,000 was returned to the state.
