Congratulations to Nancy Mitchell on receiving the Women’s Achievement Award from the Governor’s Commission for Women and Families. Nancy is the Executive Director of the Women’s Business Center at the Salt Lake Chamber. The Women’s Business Center provides vital services to women in the community—especially those who are starting their own businesses.

Big-D Construction was awarded a contract to build a mozzarella cheese plant in South Dakota. The $40 million dollar plant will be completed in 15 to 18 months.

Here’s a Chamber History Fact: The first Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Governors was W. A. Nelden, of Nelden-Judson Company. The current Chair is Kem Gardner, of The Boyer Company. In July, Scott Anderson of Zions Bank will be the next Chairman.
