What company has built more homes in Ogden Valley than any other builder? Well, if you guessed Peterson Builders, Inc., you are correct.
Lynn Peterson, the company's founder, was destined to have his own construction company. Construction was an important part of his life and he loved it. As a young man, he served four years with the Seabees, a construction battalion in the US Navy, and later spent 18 months in Vietnam. Lynn returned from duty, married his wife Maureen and began working at Precision Built Homes in Ogden. After seven years there, Lynn decided to start his own business, which he did in 1976, calling it Peterson Builders.
During the slow housing market of the '80s, Lynn and his company concentrated on commercial projects. But the building boom of the '90s brought them back into the housing market.
Joined by his sons Jason and Ben, Lynn has been able to provide a more complete package to his clients. The company now provides a full-time project supervisor with each job to answer any questions and guide each client through the entire project. Peterson Builders also provides clients with a homeowners manual to inform them of every aspect of home construction, including a complete home maintenance section.
In 1993, the first house in Ogden Valley featured in the Parade of Homes was built by Peterson Builders. The country, two-story home won the "PeopleÕs Choice Award." Recently, the company built and showed two lovely homes in the parades of 1999 and 2001. Lynn has been a member of the Homebuilders Association for over 20 years.
Over the years, Peterson Builders has gained a reputation for their attention to detail and exceptional service. The company's main source of business comes from satisfied customers in the form of referrals and repeat business.
