Beneficial Life Insurance Company had its most successful year ever last year. Beneficial wrote $260 million dollars of premium in 2001--its highest sales ever. Operating profits were also the best ever.
According to Wells Fargo’s Wasatch Front Cost of Living Report, the local overall cost of living went up for the third consecutive month; rising 1.4 percent in March. Higher gasoline prices were the main reason cited in the report for the upward trend.
U.S. Bank employees will participate in raising money to help premature babies in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica fundraiser tomorrow at the Hogle Zoo starting at 8 am.
Here’s a Chamber history fact: In 1931, during the depression, the Chamber urged that local architects be used to design the Federal Building. This would allow construction to begin six months earlier than using an out-of-state firm.
The Chamber’s Business to Business Expo is coming to the Salt Palace May 8th, 9th, and 10th. The Expo is sponsored by Zions Bank, KSL Radio, KSL Television, Webb Audio Visual, and Kelly Services.
