THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

Huddart Floral Company raised $5,138 dollars for Primary Children’s Hospital by the demonstration and auctioning of fresh arrangements from the Spring Home and Garden Show in March.

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently selected Bo Chung, Jr. as the 2002 Utah State Small Business Person of the Year. Bo also was a recent recipient of the Chamber’s Minority Small Business of the Year Giant Step Award.

Here’s a Chamber history fact: In 1914 Chamber members complained that the bellboys at the Commercial Club Building were taking magazines from the lounge and reading them in the elevator. The Chamber has since eliminated all bellboys from its staff.

In his three years in Salt Lake, Mitt Romney led a remarkable team that erased a $380 million budget deficit to achieve a balanced budget, helped organize 24,000 volunteers, galvanized community spirit, and oversaw an unprecedented security mobilization to ensure public safety. His professionalism, vision, and enthusiasm gave the world one of the most successful Olympic Winter Games in history. In doing so, he restored our pride in our state. He understood the greatness in our community and people, reminded us of it, and harnessed that tremendous potential. This Wednesday, April 24th the Salt Lake Chamber will honor Mitt Romney as A Giant In Our City. If you are interested in joining the Chamber in thanking Mitt for a job well done, please contact the Chamber at 328.5050 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
