Here’s a Chamber history fact: The Chamber was founded in 1902 when the Governor, Heber M Wells, called together 100 business leaders to form the Commercial Club. The motivating factor in bringing the businesses together was to influence the Southern Pacific Railroad company to make a cutoff line that went to Salt Lake City instead of Ogden.

Salt Lake’s most popular monthly networking event is the Chamber’s Business After Hours. Tonight at 5 p.m., we are throwing a bar-b-que at Mergenthaler Transfer & Storage. Co-sponsors for the event are Premier Dining and Personal Touch Catering. As always there will be food, prizes, and networking. Call the Chamber at 328.5050 to register or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
