On March 15th the Associated Builders and Contractors awarded Cameron Construction the “Excellence in Construction Project of the Year” for the Hidden Valley Country Club located in Sandy, Utah. The Excellence in Construction program recognizes quality and innovation.

The Council of Colleges and Military Educators presented Webster University with its annual Institution Award for outstanding contributions to military education around the world. The award recognizes Webster’s 45 new degree programs and five new campuses—including its new campus at Hill Air Force Base.

The University of Utah is sponsoring a delegation in June to China to develop understanding and explore business opportunities. Total cost is about $2400 per person. Contact Lilly Reed at 581-5803 for more information.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: During the Games UDOT arranged a fleet of 1,100 buses—a fleet about the size normally found in a city the size of Chicago.

Upon unanimous vote of the Salt Lake Chamber’s Board of Governors, Mitt Romney has been chosen as A Giant In Our City. This award is Salt Lake’s highest honor. Previous recipients of A Giant In Our City include Wendell Ashton, Richard Van Winkle, George Eccles, John Gallivan, and N. Eldon Tanner. Mitt will be honored at a banquet on April 24th. There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available for this event.
