This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

When I say, "Juab Builders," what do you think? It's natural to assume that Juab Builders in located in Nephi or someplace in Juab County. Right? .. Wrong!

Juab Builders gets its name from its owners, Joe Arnold and Ulrich Brunhart. They combined their initials and came up with the name for their licensed general contracting firm.

Joe and Ulrich have been friends since their high school days at Judge Memorial in Salt Lake City. While in high school, in 1974, they decided that it would be neat if they could come up with some ideas that would help them raise some spending money. They decided they would let people in their neighborhoods know that they could repair fences, cut firewood and do various odd jobs. They discovered that they worked well together and that they had talent for being creative and working with their hands.

After high school, the good friends went their separate ways. Joe spent over five years in Colorado and Ulrich worked for a period in Texas. They finally decided that they were tired of working for others and thought how good it would be if they could rekindle that excitement that they had during their teenage years. They decided they would start a construction company that offered quality custom work that customers could really depend on.

Juab Builders start was based on the philosophy of providing anything that a customers wants and doing the job in a deluxe, first-class manner. Jobs would be done expeditiously and on budget. Concentration would be on high-end residential custom work. Most work would be new construction but some large remodel jobs would be accomplished.

Well, that effort of two teenage boys at Judge Memorial High School 28 years ago was a very auspicious start to a great company with a great reputation.. Juab Builders.

For Zions Bank, I’m Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
