U.S. Bank is introducing Utah Jazz Checking accounts featuring free Utah Jazz checks for new accounts.

The Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund is holding an orientation on how small business entrepreneurs, especially those who are socially or economically disadvantaged, can obtain small business loans of up to $10,000. The orientation is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19th, at 9:30 a.m. Call 269-8408 to register.

More than four dozen free Olympic Winter Games tickets were given out in drawings by Regence BlueCross BlueShield at various Fun Fest activities during the Games.

Cricket Communications celebrated its third anniversary last weekend. The Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association recently gave an “excellence award” for “outstanding performance and innovation” to Cricket’s parent company, Leap Wireless International.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: According to Jon Kemp writing in Trendlines, Olympic-related effects on the economy represent only a small portion of total economic activity within a host city.

Upon unanimous vote of the Salt Lake Chamber’s Board of Governors, Mitt Romney has been chosen as A Giant In Our City. This award is Salt Lake’s highest honor. Previous recipients of A Giant In Our City include Spencer Eccles, Verl Topham, Scott Parker, Kenneth Knight, and Fred Ball. Mitt will be honored at a banquet on April 24th. There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available for this event.
