UNDATED (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles picked up their fifth consecutive win and stretched their lead in the AL East to 2 ½ games over Boston, with Toronto three games back. Adam Jones scored on an error by reliever Jordan Lyles in the bottom of the 10th to give the Birds a 3-2 victory over Colorado. Aaron Sanchez is 11-1 after limiting the Padres to three hits while striking out seven in the Blue Jays' 4-2 triumph at Rogers Centre.

UNDATED (AP) — The Red Sox were 4-2 losers to Detroit as Justin Verlander held Boston to a run and five hits in six innings. Jose Iglesias put the Tigers ahead to stay with a two-run homer in the sixth. James McCann and Victor Martinez added RBI singles to help Detroit pull within 5 1/2 games of the AL Central-leading Indians.

UNDATED (AP) — Adrian Beltre (BEHL'-tray) allowed the Texas Rangers to expand their lead in the AL West to 3 ½ games over Houston. Beltre launched a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Rangers a 7-6 win against Oakland. Beltre was 4-for-5 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored in the Rangers' third straight win.

UNDATED (AP) — Washington's lead in the NL East is up to five games over Miami and New York after the Marlins lost and the Mets were rained out. Jeremy Hellickson tossed one-hit ball over six innings before Tommy Joseph snapped a scoreless tie with an RBI double in the eighth to push Philadelphia past the Marlins 4-0 at Miami. Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki grounded out as a pinch-hitter to stay four hits shy of becoming the 30th player with 3,000 major league hits.

UNDATED (AP) — The White Sox earned a walk-off win against the crosstown Cubs after blowing a 4-0 lead. Tyler Saladino's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Pale Hose a 5-4 victory and sliced the Cubs' lead in the NL Central to seven games over St. Louis. Todd Frazier belted a three-run homer for the White Sox, but the Cubs eventually tied it on RBI singles from Dexter Fowler and Anthony Rizzo in the top of the ninth.
