AMERICAN FORK CANYON, Utah (AP) — A UTV explosion that injured three people has also ignited a wildfire in American Fork Canyon. KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reports that three people, including a 7-year-old child were hospitalized. The Lone Peak Fire District has evacuated all campgrounds near the 7-acre fire.
CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Cedar City police say a man is dead and a suspect is still at large. Sgt. Jerry Womack says officers responded after reports of shots fired around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The officers located a 34-year-old man dead at the scene but the suspect, 27-year-old Mark Mair, fled the scene.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Car dealers are pushing back against Tesla's court effort to sell its sleek electronic cars in Utah. The Utah Auto Dealers Association argues in court documents that state laws were set up to protect customers and Tesla should have to follow them like everyone else. Tesla says those laws don't apply because its business model is fundamentally different.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A woman who was critically injured and whose stepdaughter died after lightning struck the personal watercraft they were riding in a Utah reservoir is back home. University of Utah Hospital spokeswoman Kathy Wilets says that Jayleen Reynolds was released Saturday afternoon after being treated overnight. The 49-year-old and her 14-year-old stepdaughter, Brooklyn Reynolds, were riding in a remote area of Flaming Gorge Reservoir Friday when the lightning struck.
