BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Another funeral is scheduled today for one of the three law enforcement officers shot and killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Brad Garafola, a 45-year-old East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputy, is described by friends as a man committed to public service and devoted to his family. His funeral comes a day after hundreds of people turned out for Baton Rouge police Officer Matthew Gerald.

MUNICH (AP) — The big question for police in Munich, Germany today is,'Why?' They're hunting for a motive that might explain why an 18-year-old German-Iranian man opened fire at a crowded shopping mall and a McDonald's, killing nine people and wounding 16 others before killing himself. Security restrictions in the area have been lifted.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The battleground state of Florida will get the first look at the top of the Democratic ticket today. Hillary Clinton and newly selected running mate Tim Kaine will appear together as they head toward next week's Democratic Party convention. Clinton ended a monthslong search for a running mate yesterday.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — White supremacist and former political candidate David Duke says "the climate of this country has moved in my direction." A quarter century after a credible run for governor of Louisiana, he has jumped into the crowded competition for a U.S. Senate seat in his home state. That's drawn a rebuke from Republicans who don't want him running on a ballot as a member of their party.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's state TV is reporting that 15 people have died after their bus crashed into a high-voltage electricity pylon and overturned in the north of the country. The report says dozens of passengers were injured during the incident. Every summer weekend, hundreds of thousands of vacationers travel to recreational areas in northern Iran. The country has one of the world's highest traffic accident casualty rates.
