THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

A Classic Choice Catering and Banquet just opened a new facility in West Jordan with over 4000 square feet of banquet area able to serve over 300 people. Like many businesses, A Classic Choice still has space available over the next two weeks.

Many restaurants are extending their hours for the Games without increasing prices. For example, the Market Street Grill Downtown will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the Games.

The Metropolitan Restaurant will be open every day during the Games until 11 p.m. and is offering a special 15 percent discount to anyone with a Utah driver’s license.

Tom Kiermaier, President of Kiermaier Bavarian Roasted Almonds and Coffee Cravin, has entered a joint venture with Utah Starzz forward, Natalie Williams, to open an upscale sports bar downtown called “Natalie’s.”

Here’s an Olympic business fact: If you can’t stand crowds this may be the best time ever to get out and shop or go to a restaurant. Those businesses that are not near venues will likely be less crowded than normal. These businesses need our support during the Games.

Come and get a taste of the Chamber’s Century Club experience tonight at the Party to Welcome the World. You can network and watch the opening ceremonies on Giant Screens. Call the Chamber for more information at 328-5043 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
