This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I’ve noticed in recent years the popularity of vinyl fences. Not only are they very attractive and a great complement to any yard, they’re virtually maintenance free. So, it’s no wonder why they’re in such demand.

Well, that demand has Richard and Lorraine Bourne of Fruit Heights smiling. They’re the owners of R&L Vinyl Fence, a company that leads the West in sales and distribution of vinyl fences and ranks among the top 20 businesses of its kind in the country.

The Bournes knew vinyl fences were the way to go long before people started installing them in their yards. In 1985, the Bournes began selling a wood-clad vinyl farm fence out of their home. Richard had just retired from a lengthy career in sales and management. Together, the couple chose a new business opportunity that was close to their deep family roots of farming and horsemanship. The fence they pioneered held the promise that it never needed painting. It was also long-lasting and beautiful.

Meanwhile, Bufftech, a manufacturer of PVC pipe was changing its production to that of vinyl fences. In 1991, the two companies combined their expertise and established a strong relationship that has led to unprecedented growth in vinyl fence sales in Utah. R&L combines marketing expertise and a carefully chosen sales team with business management skills and quality installations. Bufftech focuses on product innovation and quality.

Through its partnership with Bufftech, R&L offers vinyl fences and products in style choices that range from traditional to contemporary. There are functional fence styles, too, with both semi-private and fully private designs. The Bournes, of course, have a selection of post and rail designs for farms, and they also offer arbors and trellises as decorative enhancements for any yard.

But the Bournes know it’s not just the product that sells, it’s the service. So, they’re on top of that, too. The R&L Vinyl Fence team of sales reps and installers consistently meet clients needs. So vinyl fences don’t only have Richard and Lorraine Bourne smiling, they have all of us grinning too.

For Zions Bank, I’m Fred Ball. I’m speaking on business.
