This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

What happens when you bring together an award-winning advertising writer, a Hollywood director and the “king of infomercials?” The answer is lots of great work.

At least that’s the hope of the founders and principal owners of a unique new film and video production company that has opened for business here in Utah.

The company is called Dunn, Landon & Scott, LLC. And it is the joint venture of partners Michael Dunn, an Emmy Award-winning writer, director and producer; Michael Landon, Jr., a writer/director and son of the late TV legend Michael Landon; and Steve Scott, a best-selling author and director who is widely regarded as one of the foremost direct marketing experts. Together, the three offer an usual blend of expertise in advertising, entertainment and direct marketing, which they hope to put to work on a variety of broadcast projects for clients in Utah and the western United States.

Steve Scott told me that because of its unique creative base, the company can produce everything from a thirty second TV commercial to a thirty minute infomercial. He said the group’s collective experience in various broadcast disciplines will offer more creative diversity and firepower to a project than the typical production company can. He said their expertise will result in productions that not only get attention, but will also will get the results their clients want.

Dunn, Landon & Scott hopes to attract a variety of clients, ranging from ad agencies to businesses and other organizations looking for a multi-discipline creative approach.

The company has located its office in Eagle Plaza at 4525 S. Wasatch Blvd. in Salt Lake City. And though it has only been organized a short time, the company already has its first project. It will develop an infomercial for a new golf product, which will debut on the Golf Channel next spring.

Well, I certainly believe Michael Dunn, Michael Landon, Jr. and Steve Scott have the right stuff to make their company--Dunn, Landon & Scott--a leader. We wish them the best and look forward to seeing their great work.

For Zions Bank, I’m Fred Ball. I’m speaking on business.
