OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Authorities in northern Utah say four people were injured after their boat hit rocks in Pineview Reservoir.
The Weber County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.
According to deputies, the vessel was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck rocks just north of Cemetery Point.
They say the boat was lodged into the rock wall of the shoreline.
Deputies say the 44-year-old man driving the boat suffered a head injury and was nearly scalped. A female passenger suffered a laceration to her calf.
Both were airlifted to hospitals.
Two other passengers, a man and a woman, were taken by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.
No injuries were life-threatening.
Deputies say they found multiple beer cans on-board.
The driver is expected to be charged.
