The Gallivan Ice Rink, at the Gallivan Center, is scheduled to open today.

The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown Hotel, located at 75 South West Temple, has opened Elevations, a new restaurant with an American Southwest atmosphere. Elevations, which replaces the old Allie’s restaurant, represents an $850,000 refitting and renovation.

The Community Writing Center and The Road Home (formerly known as Travelers Aid) are hosting a free public reading event tonight at 7 p.m. at A Cup of Joe Café on 353 West 200 South.

Questar projects its 2002 capital expenditures will reach $376 million. Questar will continue its emphasis on gas-development drilling and other non-regulated activities.

Intermountain Health Care Health Plans has won the prestigious National Exemplary Practice Award for Diabetes Care from the American Association of Health Plans and the Employer’s Managed Health Care Association.
