On behalf of the Chamber, I would like to wish you a patriotic and meaningful Veteran’s Day on the 11th. Take a minute this weekend to remember those who gave their lives to defend liberty and to keep in mind those who are risking everything to preserve our freedom today.
The University of Utah is holding several Veteran’s Day commemoration events today concluding with a Army Band Concert at the Huntsman Center at 7 p.m. One of the veterans being honored at a luncheon taking place right now, is Upton Ramsey, a longtime Salt Lake Chamber Salt Shaker. Upton was in the Army Air Corp in World War II.
During the grand opening of Sonitrol, a security systems business, the company gave a bullet proof vest designed for police dogs to one of Salt Lake Valley’s local law enforcement agencies.
Zions Bancorporation reported a 10.7 percent increase in operating cash earnings per share for the third quarter.
Here’s an Olympic business fact: SLOC is providing financial support to help about 500 athletes and officials stay in accommodations near the Soldier Hollow venue to reduce driving time.
