SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's Chief Medical Examiner is saying goodbye.

KUTV of Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/29rudlk) that Dr. Todd Grey has retired after 28 years as the state's top medical examiner.

Grey's last day was July 1.

Grey says he has been feeling burned out and the workload seems to keep rising.

According to Grey, seven bodies on average come to his office.

Even after autopsies, the work is not over. Grey says toxicology test are needed by the state crime lab, which has also been overwhelmed with work.

Dr. Erik Christensen will take over.
