THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines has begun offering customers new nonstop regional jet service today between its hub in Salt Lake City and the cities of El Paso, Texas and Oakland, California. SkyWest will also resume nonstop service with Palm Springs, California.

The Park City Visitors Bureau has selected Broadcast International to provide broadcast media services from the Park City Media Center during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Broadcast International will provide services such as camera crews, live satellite and fiber broadcast services, video and audio production, editing, and Internet video streaming services.

Forthgear, a corporate brand management firm, received an Award of Merit at the SAE Convention for their work on a media kit for DENSO International America.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: SLOC’s environmental goals are just one aspect of how the Olympic Winter Games affect everything in Salt Lake. For example, the Games will drastically change transportation patterns.

The Chamber’s next Gold Medal Seminar will help your business make transportation plans for the Games. The Utah Department of Transportation and SLOC will present information on commuting, delivery scheduling, and more. The Gold Medal Seminar, sponsored by Office Depot, is next Wednesday, October 17th, at 7:30 a.m. at the WestCoast Salt Lake Hotel, 161 West 600 South. Call the Chamber to register at 328-5097, or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
