This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
The hustle and bustle of life, particularly that of the business world, seems to always take its toll. We’re spending more and more hours working in our offices, homes and even our cars; all of this at the expense of our families, friends, relaxation and sanity. But just as business can stress us out, it can also provide relief.
At just about a half a day’s drive south from Salt Lake City, you can find a getaway called Zion Mountain Resort. Located a few minutes from the east entrance to Zion National Park, it’s the perfect place to unwind or venture off on day trips to explore the natural wonders of Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon national parks and Lake Powell.
The family run resort opened for guests in May. Stan Plewe (Plew) and son-in-law Kevin McLaws, wanted to take advantage of the natural wonders and peaceful surroundings of the area by building a resort that would captivate its guests with a vacation experience like none other.
The resort sits on several hundred acres of grassy meadow terrain populated by the area’s only buffalo herd. Evidence of large Anazasi Indian communities that existed on the property makes one wonder what the ranch may have looked like centuries ago.
Whether you’re looking for a family outing, or a honeymoon or anniversary getaway, the individual lodges at the resort provide the solitude and activities for which your heart yearns. Amenities such as king size beds, refrigerators, microwaves and porch swings ensure comfort and enjoyment. A breakfast basket can be delivered each morning to your doorstep, allowing you to relax on the porch swing and enjoy the morning sunrise against the sandstone cliffs.
They say, food always tastes better in the mountains. Great steaks, chicken and buffalo burgers served with Dutch oven potatoes and western beans await you at the Buffalo Grill. Home cooking and panoramic scenery emphasize that it is not only what you eat, but where you eat it that counts.
In addition to first-class accommodations and the restaurant, the resort includes unique shopping at Canyonland Gifts and a soon-to-be completed full hook-up RV Park. More information can be found on the resort’s website: zionmountainresort.com
