THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Loren Weiss has joined Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy as Of Counsel in the Salt Lake office. Big-D Corporation has named Brent Keller as Vice President and Operations Manager for its new Big-D Signature Corporation.

Altius Health Plans has entered into an agreement with The TriZetto® Group where TriZetto® will host and manage administrative software and other support for Altius.

This week I am reading portions of the Chamber Board’s Resolution of Support: The Chamber encourages members to purchase “We Stand United” Olympic pins, the proceeds from which will go to the United Way September 11th fund to help in the relief efforts in New York City and Washington, D.C.

The Chamber expresses gratitude to the leaders of the country, and pledges our support to our Congressional delegation during this difficult time;

Here’s an Olympic business fact: The Olympic Medals Plaza’s gates will open 5:30 p.m. during the games. There will be live local bands, games, trivia, and a Fire and Ice production number. At 8:05 p.m. the Medal ceremonies will begin followed by an entertainment program at 9 p.m. After fireworks, the plaza will close each evening at 11p.m.

Get ready for the Salt Lake Chamber’s International Festival on October 18th! It is a networking event that brings together companies from around the world. Call the Chamber for more information at 328-5071 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
