CHICAGO (AP) — Cubs slugger Kris Bryant has left Chicago's game against the Cincinnati Reds because of a bruised lower left leg.

With the Cubs leading 8-0 in the fifth inning Monday, Bryant was hurt making a catch in left field when center fielder Albert Almora Jr. ran into him. Matt Szczur batted for Bryant in the bottom of the inning and replaced him on defense.

Bryant hit his NL-leading 24th homer and scored three runs before leaving the game.
