THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Michael Roberts, an attorney with Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, recently received a Master of Laws degree in agricultural law. Gentner Communications named Timothy Morrison as Vice President of Sales. Jed Pitcher has been named to the Board of Regents which is over Utah’s higher education system.

Intermountain Financial Group has launched a new website featuring their products and services at www.intermountainfinancialgroup.com.

The new W.H. Brumby’s restaurant, 224 South 1300 East, recently received a positive review from KSL commentator Ted Scheffler.

Glyphics Communications has signed an agreement to provide conference calling services to the International Franchise Association, an organization of franchisers, franchisees, and suppliers.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: Many observers felt that the Nagano Olympics did a better job than the Atlanta Olympics in providing smooth transportation, delivering competition results on time, and ensuring security without much hassle for the visitors.

The Olympics is such a unique event that without training most businesses will not see any tangible benefits. The Chamber’s Gold Medal Seminars teach companies how to profit during the Winter Games. The next Gold Medal Seminar, sponsored by Office Depot, is on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. Tom Shepard of Visa will talk about “Business Lessons Learned From Past Olympics.” Call 328-5097 for more information or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
