BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Justin Hamilton had one of his best seasons in Europe last year.

The former Lone Peak post averaged 14.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game with Valencia Basketball Club in Spain’s Liga Endesa en route to power forward of the year honors.

Now he’s coming back to the U.S.

Hamilton signed a two-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets at the start of the NBA’s free agency, his agent tweeted Thursday.

ESPN.com reports the deal is worth $6 million over two years for the former second-round draft pick who played in 49 games over two seasons with Miami, Charlotte and Minnesota. He joins point guard Jeremy Lin in the Nets’ free-agent class.

Hamilton confirmed he will play in Brooklyn via Twitter, as well.

After helping Lone Peak win the 2008 Class 5A state title, Hamilton played one season at Louisiana State before being the No. 45 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2012 NBA draft. He also played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA D-League in 2014, where he was named to the All-Star Futures Game.
