The Chamber honors Spence Eccles this Thursday, June 28th, as A Giant In Our City. Spence was born in Ogden on August 24, 1934. After graduating from Ogden High School, Spence earned a degree in banking from the University of Utah. He served as an officer in the Army Infantry and then obtained a master’s degree in banking and finance from Columbia University in 1958.
