Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Irwin Union Bank has named Rick L. Stevenson president of their new Utah Bank. James Harmon has rejoined the board of directors of Questar. Zions Bancorporation appointed Michael DeVico as its new executive vice president for operations and information systems. Montgomery Watson has hired Alicia Marcis-Zimmerman as the firms Marketing Manager.
Qwest is continuing to move forward to meet all of the requirements to get back into the interstate long distance business. They hope to meet all the tests so that they can file later this summer with the FCC.
Here’s an Olympic business fact: During the Sydney Olympics, the day excursion tourism market saw a decrease in business. Most Olympic visitors spent the majority of their money around the Olympics. If visitors did anything in addition to the Olympics, they were looking for inexpensive attractions and outings.
One of the great challenges and opportunities of the Olympics is the interaction with business people from other countries and cultures.
