NEW YORK (AP) — The Mets and Royals opened the season in Kansas City after meeting in the World Series last fall. Tonight they start a new series but this time in New York. Right-hander Noah Syndergaard, who is 7-2 with a 1.91 earned run average, is on the mound for the New Yorkers with Ian Kennedy going for the visitors.
BOSTON (AP) — Chris Sale of Chicago's White Sox is out for his 12th win of the season tonight as the Sox visit the Red Sox in Boston. Sale enters the game with a record of 11-2 with a 2.94 ERA. He'll be facing Clay Buchholz.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The College World Series schedule calls for two more games today. This afternoon Florida is facing Texas Tech while tonight's game has TCU going against Coastal Carolina.
CLEVELAND (AP) — The city of Cleveland will salute its newly crowned NBA champion Cavaliers tomorrow with a parade. The Cavalier faithful will line the streets of downtown Cleveland as the parade starts by Quicken Loans Arena before moving past the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
UNDATED (AP) — The NHL has announced a new-look schedule for the 2016-17 season. Each team gets a bye week, which means a lot of back-to-back games, and a reduction of the season by some 180 days overall.
