LAS VEGAS (AP) — A series of nonpartisan statewide races for the University Board of Regents and the State Board of Education were decided in Tuesday's primary.
John Moran took 55 percent of the vote in the regent's District 13 race, beating Jim Ratigan.
Patrick Carter with 34 percent of the vote beat incumbent Michael B. Wixom, who had 28 percent of the vote, for the District 6 seat.
Incumbent Mark Doubrava got 56 percent of the vote to win the District 7 seat over challenger Lucille Thaler.
Cathy Mcadoo and Jason Geddes won their seats running unopposed in districts 8 and 11, respectively.
In the Board of Education races, Tim Hughes won the District 1 seat with 45 percent of the vote and incumbent Felicia Ortiz is keeping her District 3 seat.
