BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Western Kentucky University says it has begun accepting nominations for next year's inductees into the Gov. Louie B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame.

A statement says the university will accept nominations through July 15. Nominations forms are available at http://www.wku.edu/kythf/nominations.php .

Nunn helped establish the Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame at WKU in 2000 in an effort to recognize the vital role that teachers play in educating children.

Nominees must have spent at least 19 years in the teaching profession, with at least 10 of those in Kentucky, and must have made "noteworthy contributions" to the lives of students.

Teachers can be nominated by their school districts, fellow educators or former students.
