BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in southwest Idaho say a 40-year-old Boise woman and her three kids died after an SUV plunged about 70 feet off a cliff and into Lucky Peak Reservoir Thursday morning. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says bodies of two girls, ages 12 and 6, and the body of a 10-year-old boy were recovered Thursday morning.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — A federal magistrate has levied $735 in fines, fees and compensation on a Canadian man who told rangers at Yellowstone National Park that he loaded a bison calf into his SUV because he thought it was cold. The calf later had to be euthanized because it couldn't be reunited with its herd.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Attempts to lessen the far-right stronghold on the Idaho Republican Party's core policies stalled Thursday during the first day of the state's GOP convention. Instead, the party's platform committee not only reaffirmed they supported the Idaho Republican Party's policy supporting the gold standard and repealing the 17th Amendment, but also approved new policies arguing that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant and opposing mandatory preschool.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is making big improvements in fish passage facilities at Lower Granite Dam, hoping to increase the number of endangered salmon and steelhead that migrate through the Columbia-Snake river system. The dam is located on the Snake River west of Pullman.
