LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man is on life support after he was shot in the head following an argument at a Las Vegas apartment complex.

Officer Laura Meltzer said Tuesday that officers responding to a report of gunfire found the man wounded a little before 7 p.m. Monday at the complex off Cambridge Street. That's near The Boulevard mall, east of the Las Vegas Strip.

An assailant wasn't immediately arrested or identified.

Meltzer says the wounded man was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.

Witnesses told police the man argued with someone shortly before he was shot.
