CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Tropical Depression Bonnie is now stalled over South Carolina after moving inland. The National Hurricane Center says the center of the storm is barely moving just northwest of Charleston. Heavy rain bands continue to swing around the storm, bringing several inches of rain to the southern part of the state and eastern Georgia. Several roads are flooded.

HOUSTON (AP) — Flash flooding in the Texas Hill Country is causing major problems. There's widespread damage and at least one person was killed. A car containing three people was swept from the street in Comfort early today. Two people escaped, but the third went missing. Her body was found this morning. She becomes the sixth flood-related death in Texas this Memorial Day weekend.

HOUSTON (AP) — Two people are dead after a shooting in a Houston. The gunman was one of those killed. Police say there were two armed suspects involved. One was killed; the other was wounded. According to police, one suspect was shot by the other and the second was shot by a SWAT officer. Two officers and three citizens were also shot.

WOODLAND PARK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a man has shot himself to death at a firing range in New Jersey. Woodland Park police say the 30-year-old Garfield man had gone to the Gun For Hire indoor shooting range with a friend last night. They say he shot himself in the head a short time later. Authorities say the death appears to be a suicide, but a formal ruling has not been issued.

TALKEETNA, Alaska (AP) — A mountaineer from the Czech Republic is dead after an estimated 1,500-foot fall on Denali Mountain in Alaska. The National Park Service the 45-year-old man fell on Saturday. Nearby climbers found his body within 10 minutes. The park service says hard-packed snow conditions had developed in the area because of days of extreme wind.
