SYDNEY (AP) — The Australian Olympic Committee said Saturday that Australian race walker Jared Tallent will be presented with his 2012 Olympic gold medal in June in Melbourne.

Tallent came second behind Sergey Kirdyapkin in the 50-kilometer walk in London but was later elevated to gold following the Russian's positive drug test.

AOC John Coates said he will pick up the gold medal from his Russian Olympic counterpart soon and present it to Tallent with full Olympic protocol in Melbourne on June 17.

Last year, Kirdyapkin was handed a retroactive three-year doping ban. But the sanction imposed by the Russian anti-doping agency didn't cover his results at the Olympics, letting him keep the gold medal.

The Russian ruling was overturned in late March by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
