NEW YORK (AP) — Enterprising edged Slim Shadey by a head Thursday in the $85,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.
The 5-year-old gelding trained by Tom Proctor snapped a nine-race losing streak dating back to his victory in the 2014 La Jolla Handicap at Del Mar.
Junior Alvarado was aboard for the mile in 1:35.28.
Enterprising paid $7.70, $3.60 and $2.40. Slim Shadey returned $4.10 and $2.80. Nonna's Boy paid $3.20 to show.
