LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) — USA Bobsled & Skeleton is looking for athletes and is conducting a series of combine events across the country. Assistant coach Mike Dionne says summer recruiting will focus on luring elite athletes who believe "they have what it takes to represent their country at the highest level, and have dreams of competing for Olympic medals."

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former Monticello police officer who pleaded guilty to breaking into the home of his estranged wife and assaulting a man has been sentenced to 10 days in jail. KUTV-TV reports that Cole Young was sentenced Monday on reduced charges of third-degree felony burglary and misdemeanor assault.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A sea lion at Salt Lake City's Hogle Zoo has died during a medical procedure. Zoo officials say the sea lion named Rocky had an infection because of swollen lymph nodes throughout his body.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah developer of video games like "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005" is asking the Utah Supreme Court to toss out his criminal convictions for not paying more than 100 employees. Lawyers for David M. Rushton argued Monday that prosecutors wrongly charged him twice for keeping money that didn't belong to him, dragging him back to court in 2011 while he was trying to make amends.
