HANNOVER, Germany (AP) — President Barack Obama says time isn't on the side of a proposed U.S.-Europe trade he wants to see completed soon. Obama says if negotiations aren't completed by the end of the year, then upcoming political transitions in the U.S. and Europe mean it won't be finished for some time. He says the "time is now" for the agreement. Obama spoke as he joined German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Hannover, Germany, to open a massive industrial technology trade show.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration may soon release at least part of a 28-page secret chapter from a congressional inquiry into the 9/11 attacks that may shed light on possible Saudi connections to the attackers. The pages in question address specific sources of foreign support for some of the hijackers. Former Florida Sen. Bob Graham, who was co-chairman of the bipartisan panel, says an administration official told him that intelligence officials will decide in the next several weeks whether to release at least parts of the documents.
ANTIGO, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is praising the police response to a shooting that wounded two people leaving a high school prom. Walker says the actions of the Antigo (AN'-tih-goh) Police Department "undoubtedly saved lives." One of the officers stationed in the school parking lot returned fire, killing the gunman, who's been identified by police as 18-year-old Jakob E. Wagner . The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation has been asked to lead a review of the shooting.
FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida sheriff says his agency is investigating the fatal shooting of a motorist by a Fort Piece police officer. The St. Lucie County sheriff says a 21-year-old driver tried to flee after being stopped by police and ran over the legs of one of the officers. A second officer shot him.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — "The Jungle Book" remains king of the box office in its second weekend in theaters. It beat new opener "The Huntsman: Winter's War" by nearly $40 million, according to studio estimates. "Barbershop: The Next Cut" landed in third place with $10.8 million in its second weekend in theaters. "Zootopia" and "The Boss" round out the top five.
