PARIS (AP) — Nice moved up to third in the French league with a 2-0 win over Reims on Friday, with Hatem Ben Arfa scoring one goal and setting up another to maintain his push for a place in France's squad for the European Championship.
Nice has 57 points, one more than Lyon, which visits Toulouse on Saturday.
Valere Germain opened for Nice in the 11th minute, chipping goalkeeper Johann Carrasso after a pass from Ben Arfa.
Ben Arfa got the second 11 minutes after the interval when he was fouled by Anthony Weber in the penalty area. He converted down the middle for his 17th goal of the season.
Reims has yet to guarantee its survival in the top flight and could drop into the relegation zone after the round is complete.
