Nomination sent in by Megan Corrent Langford:

There are few people in one’s life that you meet and you feel instantly comforted by; this person for those at the Utah Lions Eye Bank is Sharon Nichols. She has been volunteering at our organization for nearly 10 years, and our Wednesdays instantly become brighter when she arrives at the office. Her dedication, kindness and warm energy is a constant reminder that we all want to be a little more like Sharon. I wanted to share a few more examples of how Sharon impacts others and our mission: Sharon’s commitment and dedication to our mission shows each and every time she comes into the office. For the nearly 10 years I have known Sharon, she has rarely missed a week of volunteering at the Utah Lions Eye Bank. I value her hard work, spirit and deep passion for our case. Sharon is truly a great person and I am honored to have her as a part of our eye bank family.

Nomination sent in by Executive Director Chris Hanna:

"Sharon Nichols has been a volunteer for the Utah Lions Eye Bank for nearly 15 years. She shows up each week with a smile and a hug for everyone. Her joy and genuine love for those around her is infectious. She is willing to help out with anything and everything that needs to be done. Each week she takes the time to address letters by hand to corneal transplant recipients from the past week. She and her husband Sam are powerful advocates in the community for organ, eye, and tissue donation. The Utah Lions Eye Bank would not be the same without her smile, laugh, and genuine care for those with whom she associates. Executive Secretary & Family Services Coordinator

Nomination sent in by April Edwards:

Sharon Nichols; amazing, dedicated, sweet, sincere, accountable, hard-working volunteer that makes a difference for our organization, as well as our donor/recipient families. We are the luckiest, most fortunate organization to be able to have such a committed volunteer like Sharon Nichols. She always arrives with a smile on her face, greats everyone, asks about how our week went and then begins assisting where needed. She completes her assignments quickly and without error. If she has questions or concerns she knows who to go to and ensures she gets the job done correctly before leaving for the day. Its volunteers like Sharon that lead by example within our community. She is an inspiration to me and whoever she meets. I look forward to seeing her every week and miss her when she’s gone. She has always been a part of the Eye Bank and donation community and I look forward to working with her for many more years to come. She is simply amazing!

Sharon’s warm presence is always felt as soon as she walks into the doors of the Eye Bank. Her positive attitude and smile fills each and every corner of our workplace. Her dedication and love for donation shines through the work. She ensures that our families are given the opportunity to receive bereavement packages and information about their loved one’s donation.

Nomination sent in by Communication Supervisor Andrea Hancock:

We understand that there are a lot of deserving people in our community, however we feel strongly that Sharon Nichols so greatly deserves a little recognition for all of her hard work and dedication. Her story of service, kindness and love is an inspiration for everyone.
