LOS ANGELS (AP) — Kobe Bryant ends his celebrated NBA career when the Lakers host Utah tonight.
He bows out as the only player in NBA history to spend a 20-year career with the same team. The 37-year-old will walk off the court in front of devoted fans in the building where he hung five championship banners.
Unfortunately, his farewell season hasn't been up to Bryant's standards. The Lakers enter the game with a 16-65 mark.
Bryant retires as the third-leading scorer in league history and an 18-time All-Star.
Coach Byron Scott expects Bryant to play more than 37 minutes, and Kobe's teammates will be feeding the ball to him on practically every possession.
