UNDATED (AP) — West No. 1 seed Oregon, Syracuse, Oklahoma, Maryland, Villanova, Wisconsin, Texas A&M and Notre Dame advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament with victories yesterday. The NCAA tourney resumes Thursday night with round of 16 games in Louisville and Anaheim.

UNDATED (AP) — The Atlantic Coast Conference is the big winner in landing six teams in the Sweet 16. Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia and Syracuse represent the most of any conference ever in the Sweet 16.

TORONTO (AP) — DeMar DeRozan had 25 points, Luis Scola added 20 more and the Toronto Raptors beat the Orlando Magic 105-100. With the win, the Raptors moved just one game back of the idle Cleveland Cavaliers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Jason Day has won his first PGA Tour event of the year by going wire-to-wire to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one shot over Kevin Chappell (CHAHP'-ehl). Day closed with a 2-under 70 to finish 17 under for the tournament.

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — Southern California native Jimmie Johnson has won his record sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Fontana. Johnson pulled away in overtime to beat Kevin Harvick to win the Auto Club 400 for his 77th career Sprint Cup victory, and second this year.
