COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — He's a Democrat -- but Ohio voter William McMillen says he voted for Donald Trump today because Trump is a "businessman" who "could make money" for the country. Trump's abandonment of his party's free-trade policies is resonating with voters across the industrial Midwest. Primaries are taking place today in Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina -- and polls indicate that Trump will continue dominating the race for Republican delegates. (a1027)

CLEVELAND (AP) — Bernie Sanders is continuing to pound Hillary Clinton's past support for trade deals that he says have cost American jobs. During a campaign stop in Ohio today, Sanders said Clinton "stood with the big money interests," while he stood with "the working people of this country." Sanders is aiming for victory today in Missouri and is within striking distance in Illinois and Ohio, two states where he hopes his trade-focused message will resonate.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A man who tried to rush the stage at a Donald Trump rally in Ohio on Saturday has been charged by federal prosecutors with illegally entering a restricted area. Authorities say Thomas Dimassimo jumped a barricade and rushed at Trump on Saturday. Video from the rally shows that he was able to touch the stage before security officials tackled him. A lawyer for the 22-year-old college student says he was just looking to express his political views. (a1066)

WASHINGTON (AP) — The entire subway system in Washington, DC, is going to shut down at midnight tonight -- and it won't reopen again until Thursday morning. An official says the 29-hour shutdown will allow crews to inspect electrical components on the tracks. A fire on the tracks led to major delays throughout the system yesterday. It was caused by the same kind of component that malfunctioned last year, causing a train to fill with smoke.

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks have finished mostly lower, led by a steep decline in drug company shares. Major international markets also fell, dragged down by a weak economic forecast from the Bank of Japan. The Dow rose 22 points, but the S&P 500 lost three points and the Nasdaq composite fell 21 points.
