"We are really excited for MyKayla," Utah co-head coach Tom Farden said in a press release before Skinner competed in the Scotland meet.
Farden said he and the Red Rocks looked forward to watching both Skinner and Team USA's success in Scotland.
"This is another great opportunity for her to compete against the world's best gymnasts on an international stage," he added.
The Arizona native is a three-year member of the U.S. Senior National Team. She signed with the Utes in November 2014, but deferred school enrollment for a year to pursue a berth in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The USA Olympic Gymnastics Trials for women will take place July 8 and 10 in San Jose, California.
Skinner was an alternate on the 2015 U.S. World Championships team and on the 2014 World gold medal team, earning a bronze medal on vault.
The 19-year-old is also featured in Under Armour's "Rule Yourself" campaign highlighting the U.S. Gymnastics team.
