SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Former first lady Nancy Reagan's children have been recounting memories at their mother's funeral at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. Patti Davis described her parents as "two halves of a circle," recalling a long-ago memory of seeing the two of them sitting on a Southern California beach at sunset in what she called an impenetrable "island for two." Ron Prescott Reagan told the guests there likely would not have been a President Ronald Reagan without Nancy Reagan, saying she had an absolute belief in him, and that she provided guidance and a refuge.
UNDATED (AP) — Marco Rubio is urging Republicans in Ohio to turn out and vote next Tuesday -- for John Kasich (KAY'-sihk). Rubio told reporters today that Kasich has a "much better chance of stopping Donald Trump in Ohio" than Rubio himself does. The tactic reflects the increasing sense of urgency felt by Trump's foes as the front-runner looks at what would be a devastating sweep in the winner-take-all primaries in Ohio and Florida.
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Donald Trump says he "doesn't quite get" why some people preferred the more mellow performance he delivered in last night's debate. Trump left his usual barbs and personal insults behind at the debate in Miami. But he told a rally in St. Louis today that the other Trump is more exciting. Today's rally was repeatedly interrupted by protesters.
PARIS (AP) — Paris prosecutors say two teenage girls suspected of plotting an attack against a Parisian concert hall have been arrested and presented to a judge. They say the girls aged 15 and 17 were arrested by counterterrorism agents as part of an investigation. Prosecutors said early investigations indicate the girls' project appears to have still been in the thinking stage as no weapon or explosives were found. The arrests came nearly four months after attacks at a concert hall and other locations in Paris left 130 people dead.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — A suspended Arkansas judge has pleaded not guilty to a negligent homicide charge filed after his son was found dead in a hot car. Judge Wade Naramore is accused in the death of his 18-month-old, Thomas, last July. Arrest records say Naramore told investigators he forgot to drop his son off at day care and left him in the back seat of a hot car for about five hours. The child died at the scene. Naramore's lawyers say the incident was "a tragedy but not a crime."
